About Vega

Vega is a pre-seed enterprise SaaS company in the aerospace and defense sector. We provide spectrum intelligence software to satellite operators, enabling them to forecast and avoid radio frequency interference. Our customers include commercial satellite operators, civil agencies and regulators, and the defense community.

About the Founder

Trent Voris holds a B.S. and M.S. in aerospace engineering from Cal Poly and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He spent three years engineering at SpaceX and then joined Astra Space where he developed mobile launchpads and Rocket 3.0 that ultimately made it to space helping the company go public in 2021. Most recently, he served as resident entrepreneur at the advanced research and development division of Leidos, leading programs for Space Force and DARPA customers.

The Role

This is a hands-on business development role supporting Vega's go-to-market efforts. You will work directly with the founder on outreach, research, and content creation:

  • Prospecting and outreach: scheduling calls, conducting customer discovery, and tracking engagement
  • Market research on satellite operators, competitors, and industry trends
  • Creating sales and marketing content (emails, presentations, posts, etc.)

This is an educational internship designed to provide hands-on learning in startup business development. You will gain direct exposure to customers, sales processes, and early-stage operations—similar to what you might experience in an entrepreneurship practicum or capstone project.

We can work around your academic calendar and coordinate with your institution if you are pursuing academic credit.

Requirements

  • Actively pursuing an undergraduate degree
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiarity with AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude Code)
  • Comfortable with cold outreach and customer-facing work
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and self-directed work

Nice to Have

  • Interest in aerospace, defense, or deep tech
  • Experience creating pitch decks and sales materials in PowerPoint
  • Advanced proficiency with AI tools, especially Claude Code
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (HubSpot, Salesforce, etc.)
