Vega is a pre-seed enterprise SaaS company in the aerospace and defense sector. We provide spectrum orchestration software to satellite operators, enabling them to forecast interference and exchange spectrum. Our customers include commercial satellite operators, civil agencies and regulators, and the defense community.

About the Founder

Trent holds a B.S. and M.S. in aerospace engineering from Cal Poly and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He started his career as an early engineer at SpaceX and then joined Astra Space where he developed mobile launchpads and Rocket 3.0 that ultimately made it to space helping the company to go public in 2021. Most recently, he served as resident entrepreneur at the advanced research and development division of Leidos, leading programs for Space Force and DARPA customers.

The Role

We're looking for a Full Stack Software Developer to help build and scale our satellite spectrum coordination platform. You'll work across the entire stack—from visualizations and report generation to background job processing and API integrations.

This is an early stage engineering role where you'll have significant impact on the product and architecture, with some of the major functions including:
- Mature Vega's RESTful API and web app for satellite data and analysis results
- Optimize and improve the core analysis pipeline and storage
- Improve data source integration and refinement processes
- Support and maintain a robust platform for internal operations

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science or related field
• Familiarity with AI tools (Claude Code, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.)
• Demonstrable software development experience or projects
• Strong software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, code review)
• Ability to work independently and take ownership of features end-to-end

Nice to Have

• 2+ years of experience in full stack web development
• Experience with Hotwire (Turbo, Stimulus) or similar reactive frameworks
• Familiarity with modern frontend frameworks and reactive patterns
• Understanding of RESTful API design and best practices
• Background in geospatial applications or mapping
• Familiarity with gRPC or other RPC frameworks
• Interest in aerospace, satellites, or telecommunications
